Planning a wedding can be a whirlwind — but sorting out the legal stuff doesn’t have to be. In Australia, you need to lodge your Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) at least one month before your wedding date. This handy tool helps you work out the latest possible date you can lodge your form and still get hitched on time.
Use the tool below to check your deadline 👇
How the NOIM deadline works
To get legally married in Australia, you must submit a completed NOIM to your celebrant no less than one month before the big day. For example:
Wedding date: 20th November → Lodge NOIM by 20th October
Wedding date: 5th March → Lodge NOIM by 5th February
You can lodge it up to 18 months in advance, but one month is the minimum required.
